Start with the wagering requirements
The wagering requirement tells you how many times you must play through the bonus before you can withdraw any winnings. It is usually written as a multiplier, like 20x or 30x. Multiply that figure by the bonus amount — or the bonus plus deposit — to see the total turnover you need.
For example, a RM100 bonus with 25x wagering means you must place bets worth RM2,500 before a withdrawal. Lower multipliers are better. If the site does not state this clearly on the promotion page, do not deposit. Move to another offer.
Check game contribution percentages
Not all games count equally towards wagering. Slots often count 100%, but table games like blackjack or baccarat may count only 10% or even zero. If you prefer table games, a bonus with low or no contribution for those games will be very hard to clear.
Look for a table in the terms that lists each game type and its contribution percentage. A common rule: if slots contribute 100% but live dealer games contribute 0%, your bonus is effectively only for slot players. Play only if your chosen game type is included fairly.
Identify the maximum bet limit
Most welcome bonuses cap how much you can bet while the bonus is active. This limit is often RM25 to RM50 per spin or hand. Betting above that can void your bonus and any winnings. The platform may enforce this automatically, so you cannot rely on luck to avoid detection.
Find this limit in the bonus terms under "maximum bet" or "bet restriction." If the cap is too low for your usual stake size, the bonus may not suit your play style. A low limit also slows down clearing wagering, which can be frustrating.
Look at the expiry period
Every bonus has a time limit — typically 7 to 30 days from the date you claim it. Any unused bonus or pending winnings disappear after this period. If you only play a few hours a week, a short expiry can force you to rush or lose the bonus entirely.
Check the "validity" or "expiry" clause. For Malaysian players using e-wallets like Touch 'n Go or bank transfers, remember that deposit times vary. Claim the bonus only when you have enough free time to meet the wagering within the given days.
Verify payment method eligibility
Some bonuses exclude deposits made via certain payment methods. For example, a welcome offer may be valid only for e-wallet deposits and not for bank transfers, or vice versa. If you use a method that is excluded, you will not receive the bonus at all.
Read the "payment method" section in the terms. If you prefer bank transfer but the site restricts it, use a different method or skip that bonus. Also check if the site allows ringgit deposits — many Malaysian-focused platforms do, but always confirm.
Confirm withdrawal limits on winnings
Even after you clear wagering, the bonus terms may cap how much you can withdraw from bonus-generated winnings. This cap is sometimes called a "max cashout." For example, a RM100 bonus might limit withdrawals to RM500, no matter how much you win.
If the cap is low, the bonus becomes less attractive for high-stakes players. Compare the cap to your typical win target. A generous site will have no cap or a very high one. If the limit is not listed, contact support before depositing to get a clear answer.
